How to fold the
American Flag

1 - Bring the
striped half up over the blue.
2 - Fold in half again.
3 - Bring the lower striped corner up to the upper edge to form a
triangle
4 - Fold the upper point in to form another triangle.
Continue until
the entire length of the flag is folded.
5 - When you get near the end nothing but the blue field showing,
tuck the last bit
into the other folds to secure it.

of The American Legion Newsletter Post Convention Issue
This has an
article on page three showing The Broad Channel American Legion Post
1404 winning 3rd place in Americanism for our Flag Program.
Sons of the
American Legion Fall Newsletter This has an article on page
seven boosting this website. On his own initiative, Robert O’Hare,
from Broad Channel Squadron 1404, created a webpage for the 10th
District Sons of the American Legion, residing on the Broad
Channel Post website. This page will be used to keep members
informed of upcoming meetings, events, membership goal target
dates, etc.
Sons of the
American Legion September Newsletter This has an article on
page two showing Mr.
and Mrs. Raymond York (pictured at right) were on stage for the
presentation of the first ever Gerald Atwood- Edward Beyea
-Raymond York Memorial Americanism Award, which were won by
Georgia in all three categories (Detachment, District and
Squadron).

Preamble to the Constitution
Proud possessors of a
priceless heritage, we male descendants of veterans of the Great
Wars, associate ourselves together as "Sons of The American
Legion" for the following purposes:

To uphold and defend the
Constitution of the United States of America;

To maintain law and
order;

To foster and perpetuate
a true spirit of Americanism;

To preserve the memories
of our former members and the association of our members and our
forefathers in the Great Wars;

To inculcate a sense of
individual obligation to the Community, State and Nation;

To combat the autocracy
of both the classes and the masses;
-
To make right the Master
of Might;
-
To promote peace and good
will on earth;
-
To safeguard and transmit
to posterity the principles of Justice, Freedom and Democracy;
-
To consecrate and
sanctify our friendship by our devotion to mutual helpfulness;
-
To adopt in letter and
spirit all of the great principles for which The American Legion
stands; and to assist in carrying on for God and Country

What's New

Broad Channel "Sons of
the American Legion Post 1404" was Award 3rd place for "Americanism"
this month for our Flag program.

Our 2005 dues have been
submitted to the State. Your 2005 membership cards will be mailed in
November.

dues directly to our Post.

We held elections on
09-22-2004 and submitted our O.C.F

Meeting are held on the
